The Company
Gadoon Textile Mills Limited (GTML) was established in 1988 and became one of the largest spinning unit of Pakistan.
It manufactures and processes all types of cotton & manmade fibers, operating state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in Karachi, (Sindh) and Amazai (KPK).
The Challenge
Previously, We were using distributed file server for user backups and replication tasks. It had limitted features and the licenses cost us a lot.
The DATA was exposed to ransomware attacks and other vulnerabilities. We had other requirements of data storage for medical data, so we needed a solution to
overcome these basic issues.
The Solution
Synology not only solved our basic concerns of Ransom Attacks, Incremental costs & Reliable DATA Storage, It introduced us to some of the great Apps like Active Backup for Business, Snapshot Replication and more.
We have also implemented a High-Availability cluster in the DATA-Center using 2 Synology Rackstations RS-1221RP+ NASs. The switchover from primary NAS to the Secondary NAS can be performed within a couple of minutes.
